A Wizz Air flight bound for Lyon from Kraków declared an emergency whilst enroute earlier this morning.
Wizz Air Malta flight W62091, declared a general emergency, squawking transponder code 7700 before diverting to Munich. The nature of the problem prompting the off-track diversion is not yet known.

Wizz Air Malta flight W62091, operated by an Airbus A321neo, was passing to the south-west of Munich en route to Lyon when the emergency was declared. Having declared the emergency from cruising altitude, flight crew initiated a descent and diversion to nearby Munich International Airport (MUC).
Maintaining squawk code 7700 for priority, flight W62091 then conducted an approach and landing on runway 08R Munich International Airport. The flight then cleared the active runway and taxied to the apron hardstanding area.
Available flight data shows that flight W62091 had made an on-time departure from Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK) at 0550 local time this morning.
Following departure, the flight had set course normally, climbing to flight level FL380 for the south westerly service to Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS).
The flight was transiting German airspace to the south-west of Munich when transponder code 7700 was squawked at 0507 UTC.
A descent and diversion were then immediately initiated. The aircraft conducting the W62091 service to Lyon was an AirbusA321neo, registered 9H-WAI. This is a 3.8 year old narrow body aircraft belonging to the carrier Wizz Air Malta.
It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in August 2021.
